PANETTI
Thursday 11 sep
Between Twitch live shows and the wild mosh pits of the punk scene, there wouldn’t seem to be much in common. But if your name is Simone Panetti, all bets are off.
Musically born alongside his former roommate Naska, until a few years ago he was playing the part of a scrappy, ironic singer-songwriter. Then he crossed paths with Auroro Borealo and Greg Dallavoce, and the metamorphosis began.
The spirit behind his songwriting remains the same — self-destructive and raw — but the sound of his second album, Tombino, is thrilling precisely because it’s unexpected. Frenetic energy, distortion, metal and punk waves sneaking in everywhere, simple and effective references. When he hits the Doss, you better be ready — it’s going to be chaos.
